Dowsing Sound Collective unplugs for Fen Edge
Cambridge’s maverick musical sensation The Dowsing Sound Collective will be hitting the main marquee at this year’s Fen Edge festival. From 3pm on Sunday 23rd June, around 50 of the group’s talented singers and musicians will be appearing unplugged for Cottenham’s Long Weekend. Ramping up for their Ely Cathedral gig on 6th July, hot on the heels of an EP release, and founded by local resident Andrea Cockerton, The Dowsing Sound Collective will be performing an unusual range of music in the village. Former choral scholar Ms Cockerton says: “The Dowsing Sound Collective isn’t your average choir. We have our own band, which comprises professional musicians, and we are open to both accomplished singers and people who haven’t ever sung in a group before. “Dowsing’s age range spans from 20 to 70 and around a third of the group are men. We sing challenging, new versions of contemporary songs in up to 16 parts, and also more conventional choral pieces. The resulting sound is something really special.” To book tickets contact Ely Cathedral Box Office on 01353 660349 (Mon-Friday 9.30am-4pm) or email: [email protected] Tickets cost from £15.
