Established in 2004, Eddie’s Barber Shop on Cherry Hinton Road, has slowly gained its reputation as one of the most professional and welcoming barbershops in the city. Owner Eddie has created a welcoming and friendly environment that harks back to the traditional British barbershop experience.
Most of Eddie’s team of experienced and skilled barbers are known by name to their clients, who return time after time to have their hair cut or styled just the way they want it.
Eddie himself has been cutting hair in Cambridge for over 18 years and brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience. It is this longstanding dedication and professionalism that has allowed him to shape Eddie’s Barber Shop into the place it is today.
As soon as you walk through the door you’ll notice a classic approach to décor - with stainless steel and black leather chairs, sat upon dark wood panelled flooring. In the corner of the room Eddie has added a vintage telephone, which, in full working order, adds to a really slick 1930’s feel.
There is no appointment necessary, so the best thing to do is just pop along and wait to be seen – a comfortable leather seated bench lines one side of the barbershop and there are plenty of magazines and newspapers to browse if you have to wait. For those of you that are sports fans, Eddie usually has Sky Sports News playing in the background on a plasma screen, if a newspaper is not your style.
As well as all the hair cuts and styles you can think of - Eddie’s Barber Shop also offers a Turkish wet shave – Eddie’s longstanding friend and cut-throat razor specialist Mahmut is usually in the barbershop and can offer the closest and most relaxing of wet shaves to start your day.
Once you’ve had your cut or shave, there is only one thing left to do and that is to complete your new look – Eddie only stocks and uses the best hair products for his customers – offering a choice from ranges including American Crew, Kevin Murphy and d:fi – and if you’re stuck for a gift idea for a male friend of yours, all products are available to buy from the counter.
So, the next time you’re in need of a new cut or re-style pop into Eddie’s Barber Shop and meet the team.
