The Emperor opened it’s doors 28th September 2010 and has become an increasing popular venue, having been fully refurbished it is now clean, comfortable and very quirky. We go all out to make The Emperor stay ahead of the rest by coming up with amazing ideas such as creating Cambridge’s only beach in our beer garden, 10 tones of sand, deckchairs, brightly painted tables, seagulls, a sea view vista, ice cream van, bucket and spades and inflatables. Perfect for little and big kids!!! Similarly at Christmas we go all out and create a Christmas grotto with decorations and lights like never seen before! Other features you won’t see in another pub, our hexagonal pool table, tuck shop and huge array of bar snacks, a selection of board games, giant Jenga and a Jagermeister dispensing machine!!

Our kitchen is open 6 days a week serving homemade, quality local produce, even the chips are hand cut and perfectly crisp. The menu is wide and varied, offering traditional main meals but with plenty of lighter options. Specials are offered daily and a tasty roast on a Sunday; throughout the summer there are BBQ’s on the beach. We also serve homemade pizzas all day everyday for only £6, cooked in our stone pizza oven behind the bar. Wednesdays and Thursday are the ever popular steak nights; a succulent steak from local Woodfordes farm with all the trimmings for £8.95 and Friday is fish and chips night for £7.95.

The Emperor is fast becoming one of the best venues in Cambridge for live gigs. We host a great mix of Open Mic, Poetry, Jazz, Motown/Soul, Latin, Funk, Pop, Rock, basically something for everyone and when the isn’t a gig the jukebox is always playing. Every Thursday is Open Mic night from 8.30pm.

On the bar we have a big selection of spirits, lagers and quality, well kept ales with an ever changing guest on pump. Our wines are specially selected and there is also a good choice of soft, drinks, bottled beers and ciders.

Upstairs we have our function room free to hire, which caters for birthdays, gigs, christenings, meetings and dinners. We can provide catering to your needs and also have a bar if required. We have a 103 inch projector, which plugs directly into your laptop for any sort of presentation.
