The Old Spring is a neighbourhood pub in the heart of the De Freville Avenue area of Cambridge, situated on Ferry Path, just a short walk from the River Cam and Midsummer Common with its many boatyards.
The pub was taken over by Steve Murphy back in 2004 following a career in pubs stretching back to 1987. Steve wanted to establish a quality pub that offered great service, drinks and food in a comfortable environment - and since the team at The Old Spring have never looked back, as the business developed into the welcoming and inviting pub that you see today.
Popular with regulars from near and far The Old Spring is a pub that is loved for its consistency and irrepressible quality.
At the Old Spring you’ll find a full range of beers, wines and soft drinks as well as a refreshing selection of authentic barista coffees and a range of teas.
The Old Spring offers six real ales - including Greene King IPA and Abbot Ale as permanent features. In addition you’ll find a selection of other Ales such as Old Trip, Old Speckled Hen, Cambridge Best, Reverend James & London Glory.
The wine list has been carefully selected with suppliers to offer a good balance of price, range and quality. Offering in the region of 20 wines by the glass. Whether you are looking for a chilled New Zealand Sauvignon a glass of Prosecco or a fruity Rioja they can hopefully meet your needs.



All food is freshly made on site by their team of five chefs, using local ingredients and suppliers wherever possible. They offer a core menu of pub classics such as Home Made Burgers, Freshly Battered Fish & Chips, Corned Beef Hash as well as lighter bites including wraps. In addition they have a daily specials board to showcase their chefs abilities with dishes ranging from Fresh Flans & Quiches and Homemade Terrines to Pan Fried Sea Bass and Confit Duck.
